I have a 1980 720 King Cab that has been my daily driver for around 30 years. In that time I've rebuilt the carburetor, twice I think, but now it's smelling like gas again and there is some seepage so it is once again in need of attention. I could rebuild it again but I'm thinking of trying one of those cheap ebay carbs that go for under $100 bucks. Problem is they don't have any for 1980, only 1983-1986. From the photos they look very similar to mine, so if the flange matches and they have the right vacuum ports and throttle cable setup I think it could work. Anyone slap a 1983+ carb on a 1989 and have it work? Engine is all stock and I want it to run clean. And I am not interested in going to a Weber so that is out of the question. Thanks!
