Do you really think an aftermarket manifold is that likely to break?

Maybe it was a waste to buy 2.. Maybe it's to buy a name brand for 3x more... Who knows. But at least we know SOMETHING is a waste.

I just talked to Sam from JSPEC and he says NOT to buy the Ebay Header OR turbo OUTLET.....he said they crack because the flange is too thin......also they were all from OBX and sold under different brand names.....(OBX junk, thats like a RACTIVE header CRAP!)......(ps the only header he sold that hasn't cracked is the HKS)

I purhaces one from ssautochrome. When i recieved the unit it had an obx plate on it. Yes i purtchased it from ssautochrome not obx. I had the unit on for about 7 months then i started to get a loss in power and loud noise. Come to find out it had cracked on 11 spots, all on the welds. I called them about there warenty I was told to send it in and it would take 90days to get repaired or replaced. Have fun guys

im glad the one i bought wasnt from SSautochrome and wasnt made by obx :D

all the manifolds on ebay are not the same. Mine has one peice runners, thick flanges and tig welds. Im going to add some more support by welding rods from the turbo flange to he exaust flange. Hopefully it lasts more than 7 months.:xfingers

Yeah that sounds much better, mine was tin thin and a bunch of smaller pipes with ****ty welds holding them together.

i purchased the ssautochrome mani too. its sitting in the trunk awaiting the sr swap but i mean crap for the price i think it looks nice. taking a good one over looking at everything it appears to me that its built with a very good quality. if anything breaks then whatever ill bring it to a local shop and have all the welds redone for still cheaper than it would cost to get a higher priced mani. the runners are very thick, and the flanges are also very beefy. although the flanges are made from mild steel and the runners are stainless. is this common? ive been told by someone that the mild steel flanges are better than using 100% stainless. if this is true could someone elaborate? dissimilar metals and rates of expansions the only thing that makes me nervous...
