sure, they will work.

shoes from RITE AID will work too.

If you want REAL tower bars, please look into GT SPEC.

They'll be better than nothing, but pretty lame compared to some meaty ones from GT Spec or Cusco.

They are pretty wimpy.

A couple of years ago, I pulled over 1g in my car with the help of ebay struts. jk, but I bet that's the answer you wanted to hear.

Are you looking at competing or are you just dd your car? Get the best if you're competing. If you're just dd your car, it doesn't really matter.

Its metal bar / rod with threaded ends. I have yet to see anyone brake them without a good crash into something.

I have some cheap strut bar on my car, but I will be upgraded to the Cusco rear bar with the center floor mount.

i had the 4 piece set on my s13 for a while, didnt really trust the rear lower bar, so i took it off, installed a custom cage so remover the c pillar bar, still have the front n rear upper bars, waiting for the greddy upper bars to arrive. there a good starting point, but youll want to upgrade if you go to comps

Getting an Ebay strut bar is not a bad idea if your tight for cash eh.Sure the Cusco bars are beefyer but if your all for DD the go for it. A strut bar doesnt have moving parts so youll be good to go

Here's my attempt to save this thread...

I have ebay strut bars. They work just fine, but I'd like to upgrade to something even more functional while supporting a Nico board member at a low cost...

Go to the Fabricator's Market and get these:

zerothread/270421http://forums.nicoclub.com/zer...48831

ooooh and don't forget this one... zerothread/266824

Combine these with some fender braces & full bushing kit and your chassis will love you forever.

I installed an eBay front strut tower ball soon after I got my S14. About two years later, a van ran a red light and hit me in the front passenger wheel doing a lot of damage. When I took it to the frame shop to see if they could fix it, the lead mechanic said that if the bar wasn't there the frame would probably have not been salvageable. As it was, the shop repaired the frame AND straightened out the strut bar.I ended up doing an S14.5 conversion on the vehicle and it's my DD today.

The rear towers aren't strut towers, they're actually shock towers. There are no struts in the rear of the car because it is a multilink suspension, not a macpherson strut style like the front. That being said, the rear brace will do nothing except add weight and make it inconvenient to put stuff in your trunk.

i have ebay bars and they're fine 5 minutes with an impact gun and they're in. I honestly don't feel a big difference in the addition of the strut bars tho, they just look cool so why spend big money on them?

I am running one of the Ebay strut bars out back. The one I chose was the flat bar to complement the Tein Powerbar I have up front. Combine that with the Stealthfab underbrace and welded in some 1/8" thick steel channel under the car and she is now very solid. Minimal creaking and chassis distortion when driving or jacking up the car.All told, I added about 8lbs to the car. I will never understand why some of you guys bring up the weight factor when talking about a street driven daily commuter that sees some serious driving occasionally. I don't know what is more redundant, the weight issue or trying to impress others with the importance of heel and toe downshifting on your way to the grocery store.

This thread reminds me of high school. I used to skateboard alot, and if you didn't have the same brand boards or trucks or wheels as all the others you we're a poser. Thats what NICO is. A bunch of washed up adults who think that if someone comes in here and buys stuff that they don't see fit to put on their cars then the person is treated like s***, and/or flamed. You guys need a reality check. Look if you want them get them. Don't bother with posting s*** like this or your just asking to get s*** for your purchase. If it makes you happy go with it. It's your ride not theirs.

What are you talking about? This thread has a good mix of opinion on the subject, some saying they already have ebay strut bars and/or endorsed getting them. A few others, like myself, went so far as to offer some other options. You may need to chill out, man...

But I'll say it again...

Plus this:

= WIN, IMO.
