Great price if they are links of decent quality. Not a difficult job as much as frustrating. The top bolts are easier to get to. It also depends on how rusted they are.

Basic steps (firsthand recent experience from tearing apart my front suspension three times):1) Vehicle on jackstands under the frame. Let the front suspension droop freely. This alleviates the tension on the front swaybar.2) Remove wheels.3) Soak the upper and lower nuts on the link with Liquid Wrench. Wait an hour.3) Ideally you'll have an impact wrench. Otherwise, it's a 5mm (or 6mm?) Allen wrench on the bolt and a 17mm box wrench on the nut. 4) Grunt, curse and generally get pissed at the fact the nut is rusted onto the link bolts. The lower link bolts are harder to remove due to lack of leverage or locating the impact wrench.5) When you finally get one side off, rejoice in the fact you now need to do the other side.6) When you install the new links, be sure to put a dab of threadlock antiseize on the threads in case you need to pull 'em off again.

Good luck!

Al

wow, thanks for that very detailed post! i might still take it in to a shop and get it done right...less time too.

Korbeano, I am no suspension expert, but I have a knock every time i go over a bump on the right side and my friend whose a mechanic told me it was those.

I had bought a set but just never got around to doing them just because of the very fact of the rusted bolts and knowing the pain and aggrevation to take them off.

I may attempt it before summer is out.

I second the thought from your mechanic Qxxx4, we have an Odyssey and it use to knock everytime you go over a bump or speed bump and we had the sway bar links replaced and its cured. Hope its the same issue for you Qxxx4

If it's rattling/knocking/etc, also check your strut bearings and A-arm ball-joints. Turns out both of mine were worn and contributing to the cacophony of noises in my front end, especially when I hit a bump. The lower ball joints weren't too bad once you figure out your procedure of pulling back the cv axle a bit. The effort to replace the strut bearings is the same procedure as replacing struts.

I was hoping it was my swaybar endlinks, but when I kicked my front wheels there would be no reason for the swaybar links to rattle, thus I determined it was my balljoints and/or strut bearings.

Regards,

Al

I replaced my links with the exact brand you posted because I was getting a clunk in my front end, clunk went away.... 5-6k later its back

I suspect they are just a s***ty quality.

Im gonna get them from the dealership before winter, no matter the cost.

Its an easy DIY though, mine were rusted so I just cut them off, but you do have to take the front tires off

Spend the extra money and get them at the dealer. If I recall correctly, they were still under $100.00 CDN.I did mine last year, and the description above is dead on accurate.Getting the old ones off is 90% of the job.I did them myself, and I still think it's a DIY job. I'm sure you can do it too.One thing I would add is this: Put the front end (frame) of the truck resting on a jackstand, and then use the car jack to take some of the tension off the link.Do this by jacking up under the control arm and thus raising only the wheel assembly. (I hope I'm describing this properly). The weight of the truck will remain on the jackstand. This procedure will also help you align the new link into the holes by the way. Makes it much easier.Put aside an hour or two of your day, and have fun.

Ya it took me a solid 2 hours to do both fronts and the rears. Only one of the fronts has failed on me though
