I know most people have a problem with the pulleys being warped thus causing premature belt wear, and the crank pulley from any company should never be used, aftermarket ones generally don't consider a harmonic balancer. E7, dont you work at TDC? I thought Chris had a deal with Megan, I would definitely suggest those.

they're probably shady, But if they could be balanced they might hold up.

its best to save up and get the greddy's even the megac's im a bit suspicious of but if you trust them. i would do it.

I would even use a no name set thats made in the US. we have a degree of workmanship here that I respect.

I'm using megan pulleys for the alternator and water pump. I'm still using the drive belts the came with the engine. About 20k miles its still holding up.

As far as balancing most of the design programs show stress areas and what not. You would think with them being symmetrical that it wouldn't really matter.

you mean cad design programs? stress areas? so your saying that the casting of the metal is imbalanced tho we cant quite see it.

I know you!you work at nsp!i recognize the car in the sig.

and no.. i dont work at tdc.. Chris is a good friend of mine and benefits from my free labor around the shop from time to time ha.

but yeah.the Megans were a good choice for me.but i saw a set on ebay for cheep.i didnt think about them being balanced

i saw set of pullys INCLUDING a crank lightweight crank pully on ebay.the crank pullys the one that got me.

but ill probably go with the Unorthadox Crank pully from FRsport.. since i can only seem to fine them there.

but yeahthanks for leading me away from crappy balanced ebay pullys.

anytime man, and also in addition to your question about the paint, you can come check out the convertible to see what the chromabase and chromaclear look like in person, very very slick and well worth the money. any advice you need just hit me up.

Basically many of these ebay companies don't take the time to do an evaluated test of the pulley they make. Simple testing would tell them areas that would cause a pulley to be unbalanced and would show the stress areas placed upon the pulley during a live test. Higher stress areas can typically cause some unbalancing also due to all the force being shifted on the weaker areas. This is why companies like Greddy charge more, because I bet if you e-mailed them they spent extra $$ to do these various test. Most ebay pulleys can call there pulley "balanced" until forces are applied to it.
