i am just a poor man lucky enough to have a cool car so i was wondering about buying mod parts off of ebay. I am not that concerned about overall quality b/c i am not a street racer, i just want something that will get the job done(reasonably). I have never bought anything online much less from ebay, i just would like some other opinions about it. i am looking at small stuff first like strut bar braces, intake and maybe some cheezy ricer stuff for the inside( I like all the pretty lights when i am STONED). any input would be appreciated. thanks:pface

<---- sponsors, cheap and good. Ebay is crap, 90% of the time you don't get what you paid for. Especially with any aftermarket items. Do yourself a favor, pay the extra 20 bucks to ensure that you're getting a quality item.

i guess your right, i do understand the difference between cheap and quality items, but it is so tempting being so cheap. i mean i dont plan on buying a clutch or major parts, but i guess your right.

If you are not racing then why buy performance parts? Just seems like a waste. Spend that 13.99 on a cd or something instead of a cheap strut tower brace. Just my thoughts.

Everyone wants to save money, that's natural. Just pick and choose where you do. A bad 30 dollar part can do more than that in damage to the rest of your car.

depends on what your buying. you can get name brand parts on ebay too. ebay brands are decent for like intakes and strut bars, but serious performance parts no way. but like i said, you can find name brand parts on ebay cheap also. i get most of my stuff of ebay.

hey nismo4banger, beautiful car man, thanks for the input, i am now resconsidering ebay. as far as not being a street racer, i have payed thousands in tickects and spent a few in jail, but i still like to have the feel of a sports car. i love this forum, i can get REAL info from someone who is not just trying to make a buck and people who REALLY know about the car. well what is a good place to find decent parts that a "unskilled $10hr laborer" could afford?

Well what all do you want exactly? http://www.pdm-racing.com has good stuff. I am not sure where to get cheap parts. I would do a google search. The strut tower bar's would probly be ok from ebay, but what else are you looking for?

I found a local speedshop that has comparable prices to the internet, which save me from the shipping hassles and such, but im not much of an e-shopper to begin with....jus check around your area, or like others have said...check out the Nico sponcers...they seem to have good prices and they help keep the forums kickin!......again, goodluck:)

there are not reall any speedshops around here, but i think there is one, i just dont want to pay retail if i can get it MUCH cheaper online. i will now look on the nico sponcers, now that i know about ebay stuff, i just needed some backup opinons to set my mind at ease. but, i guess i can get the strut bars for a few bucks, they really dont need to cost like $60 to do the job right. interior stuff would probably be alright to get too right.

Wheels, Strut bars, Cold air intake. All this could probly be bought on ebay and actually work. Though the cold air I would be weary of, damn ebay. :D

:) Strutbars might...(and i stress the word MIGHT) be ok to get off of ebay, but the intake probably isnt a good idea, again from experience.......but just try and find people selling stuff here in the forum (probably) more reliable.....and just make sure if you do decide to go the ebay route...make sure to read the smallprint!!! I personally know people who have been ripped-off by not reading everything these people write in thier descriptions, and in-turn went ahead and made thier own fake ebay sales and made money themselves.....the lesson here is that its easy to get ripped off, lol...so just cover your but...cuz i can feel ur finger itchin to click that bid button from here:pface

BTW...thnx AZhitman!!, i love these forums! just trying to do my part:D

Yep, the generic ebay stuff is shady as hell. Most of the name brand stuff shouldnt be too bad though. I personally actually sell some stuff on ebay. You get some deals there cause sellers always got competition from someone that can get it cheaper.

If you want a for sure chance of not getting ripped off, go to stores or try and visit safe sites. Nico can basically back up the integrity of their sponsors. And just like Nismo4Banger240 said, it helps the forums.

yeah i say if you got something name brand or no name stuff first check the feedback that will answer tons of your questions. beware negative feedback and read what went wrong.. I've purchased some stuff off ebay and all went well just becarful and trust nobody. i was also wondering what do u think about in take the pipping is all the same so it should make a difference right..
