I have had this awful case of P-envy for some time now. I have been lurking in the shadows for more than a year but all that lurking may come to an end. This morning while performing my usual EBAY surfing I encountered a 1990 911 C2 that needed to be bid on. So I made my offer ($16000 max) and went off to work. Well I got an email that scared the hell out of me. The seller ended the auction early and I was the winner $15100. Have not heard from the seller yet nor have I told my wife (I am sooo screwed). I am sure the car needs work (has leaks) but I did a carfax and it comes back as a one owner original milage and title with no listed accidents. The car was purchased in Ohio and promptly moved to CA. The moral of my story be careful of what you bid you might just get it.

Anyone want to buy a slighly used 1994 Q45 (186K)?

Isn't that a pretty damn good price if the car end up being a good a good car?

It seems as though its not though as why would he have ended the auction early?

Trade-in value puts it around $14,000. SO my guess is his dealer offered him that or less and he just decided to sell on his own. I will be picking up so I can see in person. Heck the parts are worth more than that.

Mr. Macdonald.....

Man, I've been trying to get ahold of you for months. Hope all is well, let me know what's new - We're getting quite a lot of Phoenix members lately, time for a meet and greet.

From what I understand, you're not obligated to pay for the item if the seller ended the auction early without consulting the auction with you.

She was way cool with the concept that I will have to suffer with a 911 and have to get rid of the Q.

Thats awesome! Just enjoy it. (My advice is worthless, since I'm single.)

Also, what are you looking to get for the Q?

...eBay is also how I ended up with a leather jacket I dont need.

Being an ex P-car owner I can recommend you some sites that might help you.

rennlist.com pelicanparts.com and of course, pca.org, the Porsche Club of America.

Be very careful with your research on your new 911. The first thing to make absolutely certain to do is check if the required updates have been done. Next, find a local independent that can help you with maintenance. Thirdly, learn how to "heel and toe" like a champ, join the pca and go to some "driver education weekends". These are basically ways to spend a Saturday with a couple of hours of class time and sometimes a FULL DAY of track time.

btw, I'm getting "the itch" to get a 993 S model. The 993 is the last and has been proclaimed the best of the Air Cooled 911s by many. Ahhh, how I miss that air cool "whine"....

I called the owner today and found out why he ended the auction early. He has a buyer looking at it today. If it does not sell he will offer it to me.

Wow, saved by the buyer in place! Fun cars, but be prepared to dedicate a much larger cash flow to maintain it.
