the collectors dont look like theyre equal length to me. but it's definately a better design than stock. im really considering these because i dont want to pay all that money for dc sports stuff.

I have an obx for ka24e, its a good header. No leaks, cracks, or major problems. As far as clearance its good in important areas, the o2 sensor position a tad poor but either of the egr or aiv can be adapted to o2 sensor with simple adapter.

The obx ka24de header fits decently i hear (aside from egr/aiv), the design could be better. Id say the price reflects the design quality and not the manufacturing quality/fitment or materials.

people i love on nicoclub:

deviouska. what a badass.

thanks man.

so even though the design is not the greatest, is paying double for better stuff worth it?

or does the obx do just fine in building power?

Go with the hotshot header. I got it for my 96 and the top end power is great, I think i lost a couple at the bottom end though

From what people have told me, the obx de header gives decent gains. The primaries are good size compared to others. Good bang for the buck. I dont know of anyone running one a a decently built NA de, due to the lack of.

I dont have any 2.4l kade's, but sitting on my 2.14l de i have a stainless greddy equal length 4-1. I think its only a s14 model but not sure. Bought it used.

I think its great for all reasons but the sensor location. That price is pretty great.

You can always take it immediately into a welding shop and have them relocate the bung for the sensor and give you a plug for the other hole. Total work for that, like $50 at most.

Then all you need is a oxygen sensor wire extension from one of our sponsers. They are cheap, too.

i would say the best spot would be in one of the "2" tubes. you know 4-2-1

stock o2 sensor, on most anyways, is one wire non heated o2 and should be in the header tubes no longer than say 1 1/2ft away from head. Stock o2 doesnt do much anyways. If your running a wideband it should be in end of header collector or in a custom test pipe where cat once was.

My obx hasnt leaked, cracked, or caused any problems in last year and a half or so ive had it. For what i paid, its paid for itself. Its the sohc model.

Go with the HOTSHOT Header. I went through 3 Greddy Headers because they kept cracking and this was like 3 years ago so I went with Hotshot because at the time there was no DC or OBX, somewhat of a pain to install but has done great by me ever since.

Yeah greddy headers have major cracking issues mainly at that collector extension. Mine had cracked like 3 times, I run a modified and fixed collector on it now.

The only problem with running a Hotshot is it is a full race header so there is no bung for that second o2 sensor which makes your car run rich. My solution was removing that "thing" that looks like a second cat and put in a 2.5" test pipe, drilled a hole, welded a bung and placed the second o2 sensor in there. The car still runs rich since there is no cat but at least my check engine light went out. You can always put a high flow cat but I didn't want to spend the $$$ to get one. Im Military and I have out of state registration so I don't have to worry about the smog Nazi's anyway!

im running the obx ka24E header, so far so good. i welded the egr and aiv hole, and had to push in the fire wall a 1/4" so the o2 wont hit

Does the header replace the manifold and down pipe?

By definition a header is both pieces at once. So your answer is yes.

Not necessarily. There are long tube headers that the OBX is like and and short tube headers like the Greddy that still require a downpipe. I was just making sure that it did replace the down pipe because I don't want to get it and it need another piece to make it fit.

Greddy is the only Co that made a shorty header (to my knowledge). OBX, DC, Hotshot, and Pacesetter all make long tube headers that will replace your down pipe as well.

ebay always has a risk in it and that risk is getting bigger.

Plus for moral reasons ,I am not a friend of obx and we wouldnt allow them to sponsor here if they asked (which I dont think they have).

Reason being, they steal designs from other companies and the other guys are out the research $$ and so they sell their gear cheaper for this reason ( and generally lower quality too)
