hey so i've been trying to get some research out of an Ebay company for a steering wheel+quick release+hub but no luck. i have a friend with one and said he had no problems but with it being Ebay and only $29.99 with $20.00 shipping it concerns me. you think it's worth it? thanks

That's what they should cost anyway. I have a $250 steering wheel, and I'll bet it doesn't do anything that one doesn't do.

wait, so you want feedback on the steering wheel? or the hub + quick release...?

if the wheel: like azhitman said... its a wheel, it should do its job

but if the hub + quick release... I'd stay away.

Yep. The wheel will do its job, it will just look like poo after a while. The color on the vinyl will fade, and the vinyl will start peeling after a couple months in the sun.

As for the hub:

The one that came with my ebay wheel was complete garbage. It looked like pot metal and fitment was horrible. The screws provided wouldn't thread through the holes in the hub. So if you do end up getting that wheel, I'd suggest a nice hub+quick release from NRG or something.

I know some people say you're "killing the industry" when you buy a fake or knockoff wheel but honestly, the industry is really the one killing the consumer. Why the f*** is a steering wheel a $300 part? That's absolutely ridiculous. It's one thing spending money like that on control arms but on a steering wheel? Come on.

thanks a lot for the replies guys. i'm a little skeptical about the PVC leather withstanding sun damage and all and yes my main concern was the quick release and the hub. i emailed the seller which of course he's gonna say it'll handle abuse. i'm spending a lot of money on my 240 at once that i probably won't be able to purchase a nicer one but i wanted the quick release for a little security. so i guess overall not worth it?

Speaking from experience, the cheap ebay steering wheels feel flimzy... You can push and pull on it, and it gives waaaay to much compared to oem. I'd stick to a name brand that actually feels safe...

get a decent Nardi replica or get a balling a** JDM candy wheel off zilvia (yeah i said it guys). Also get a good quick release for sure. NRG is great, their slim hub and quick release aren't outrageously priced and at least you know it wont break apart while you are driving.
