I dont think so. Injen sells seperate intakes for the 89-90 and 91-94 so something is different between the ka24e and the ka24de.

yeah, you're probably right quiksilvia. It is kinda gay. But I still wonder what the difference is between the ka24e & ka24de.

On a more helpful note........I think the difference lies in the amount of extra plumbing you need to attach to the DOHC intake pipe. There are four lines coming off of it for the DOHC and less for the SOHC.

For the DOHC one line goes to the "resonator tank" that's attached to the radiator shroud. One line goes directly to the the valve cover, one goes to the vacuum gallery and one goes "somewhere"........I can't recall right now. Also, don't forget the line to the AIV unit. Damn............that's a lot of stuff to plumb yourself if you started with just a tube. I know you're not, but still............................

If you have the SOHC just get a mafs adapter and a cone filter it works great =) Look at signature for pic

The ad says it's a CAI? That looks like a typical "short ram" to me... there is no down pipe to get the filter out of the engine compartment.

Anyway... I don't see what's so gay about it. It's dirt cheap and it's no worse than an Injen or AEM. Maybe you would have issues with quality of the build and materials... and perhaps fitment might be an issue. But seriously... it's just an intake...

Hey 89240sx,

Is your cone filter some cheap-o off of ebay or is it some quality. I'm having a hard time justifying the $130 for an Apexi cone filter when you can get them from ebay for $12. What do you think?

I got it at Autozone :-) $25

also got a small breather type for the AIV for $10

MAFS adapter was $4

EDIT: Oh and I have gasket material at my house so I cut one for the MAFS and adapter area... probably did not need it but I did it anyway :ylsuper

I wouldn't give that filter it comes with to my worst enemy, man it looks cheap. Wait. . the whole thing does! Make sure it has all the outputs or you'll have some more work ahead of you. I would honestly say that you should leave the stock piping and add a K&N filer on the end and get an adapter off ebay (or you can have one of mine), and you'd get the same performance. I wouldn't trust their hookups or piping, both looks cheap. But thats my opinion.
