Ok..if any NICO members can help me out here, it would be much appreciated. I recently won an auction on Ebay for a digital camera on 2/27. I went to pay with paypal using my cousin's credit card, but she would not ship to an unverified address. She gave me her address a week later, so I sent a money order. They don't find the money order until a week and a half later, and they tell me the payment is too late, and she sold my camera. So that was just BS..so I ask for a refund, but she starts offering me a lower end camera. I decline the offer, and still request a refund. After that I get a series of weird emails saying the money order will be sent out tommorow, and she put 5 bucks in my cousin's paypal account for some reason.

So I am pretty pissed off right now, since I got the camera at a good price. Right now the camera runs for $50+ more than what I won the auction for. Anyway..thats it. Sorry for it being so long, but I had to explain the situation.

that person has 10757 feedbacks at 98.2%. I doubt she'll try to rip you off....

you know how there is an another part of the money order you didn't mail out? use that to get a refund on your money order. Just go back to where you bought the money order, they'll figure out whether it's cashed or not and if it's not, they'll refund you. If it has been refunded you need to talk to emily.

http://cgi3.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eB...hShowuse this link and choose the "contact info", you can get her registered phone number with that and talk it over with her

http://seals.squaretrade.com/cE088/753939631.mapYou can also talk to square trade if you have to. I noticed she's a member. Which means usually they try to resolve any problem you have.

By the way your payment IS late so you are kind of at fault.

Hey thanks for the info, I'll check out that stuff. Well she keeps sending me emails telling me to send back "the item." I keep telling them that I haven't recieved anything, but they keep asking me to send "the item" and give them the tracking number. It doesnt really make sense.

OK and as for the payment... I paid with paypal the night I won the auction, then she notified me on an email that she would not ship to an unverified address. She accepted the money at first, then refunded it a week later. See, I didn't want to send a money order until the money was refunded. So I sent the money out on the 8th I think, and she recieved it on the 16th. Here is the email I recieved that day:"just got your money order today, the item auctionclosed on Feb 28, and your money order just cametoday. that's too late, and item has been sold toother people. and now, I do not have any more of thisitem, can I send you anotehr nice camera - minoltaX20 as replacement? (check this link for item details)"

Also..I checked with Albertsons(where I got the money order) and they said they werent able to do anything =/

One more thing, this is her latest email: "I am so sorry I am in travel now, can not make phonecall. can I have the rtacking no once you send item?then we can keep watch for item delivery and refund

Also, she told me should would send out the refund last week, but she STILL has not sent it. I saw her feedback rating so I thought it would be pretty safe to buy from her, but it has just really turned to crap.

if that's the case then report to square trade, that will get her better attention on your matter. She'll study the facts and find out that she has NEVER sent you **** to begin with. As long as you have the other part of the receipt for the money order you should be fine...

Thanks, I probably will report. Is there a time limit on that? I checked out the ebay complaint thing and i think it said you can file it no later than 90 days after the auction, but you have to wait 30 days from the auctions end.

always look at the seller's feedback before committing, the number of negative feedbacks can really tell you how their business is going.

I do look at the feedback, but if you look at her rating, the good replies outweigh the negative ones. Most big sellers average around 98-99%.

Also, i would say 80-90% of negative feedbacks sellers get are usually when the buyer is at fault and gets pissy.

Here's my problem: this whole mess and waiting around, is over a $50 bill. I hope you get it squared away, but you could have avoided this by simply waiting and saving. You're waiting anyway, aren't you?

You pay that extra $50, to go to the store, buy it from a skilled salesperson who can demonstrate features, recommend any necessary or useful accessories, and send you out with a smile.

You pay for the service! If you don't pay for the service, you get this mess. I dislike ebay, and I don't even buy stuff off there. I hear the sad stories, and that's enough to keep me paying for good service. Is it really worth the hassle, over $50?

This story will be recorded in my memory as: reason #73 why business should be done in person.

well...I do see what you mean. I am always sketchy about buying on ebay, but my past experiences with ebay have been good. So I went along with this one, but it has just turned into a crappy experience. If it all went well though, that $50 would have bought me a 128MB SD card. I would rather deal in person (who wouldn't?) but I can't get that camera, or any 2MP camera for 100 bucks at a regular store.

well just like anything, ebay has its pros and cons. I just happened to catch one of the cons of ebay. But she sent me an email today saying that she sent out the money order 2 days ago. I was just mad cause she sent me a series of emails that didn't claimed that I had an "item." Didn't make sense at all.

vman dont'; be mad, it;s not her fault, she has 479 items for sale at the time of me posting this.... of course she's going to get confused...

look at the good side: she is willing to help to resolve the problem and both of you end up happy.
