I've seen some sales for 'drift' 3mil headgaskets for the KA24DE. It says it's for turboing KA's. price is around $90.

1) are these gaskets any good?

2) will this lower the compression ratio alot from stock? Enough to turn up the boost without rebuilding the engine?

1) not sure. can you post a link?

2) i wouldn't lower my compression with a thicker head gasket to run boost.

Run a thicker gasket if you want, but realize that you are screwing up the quench areas they designed into that combustion chamber. You should be perfectly fine with a good factory thickness gasket and proper fuel/engine management.

Ok, thanks!

I will not waste my time. Don't want to risk any detonation.

3 mil is THICK...man that'd have to drop compression a decent amount...but at the expense of the way it was originally designed. I'd consider it if you had done something like having the head or block decked a good bit if it had warped etc. What kind of plans do you have for the motor?

How much boost do you want to run? What injectors are you looking at?
