Hey tonight me and my homie where in his s14 with a hks gt2540 turbo making 310hp and we ran a s13/sr20 with a eBay gt28rs turbo and we got smoked.

I need info from the owner's these eBay turbo's.. I know alot of people have these eBay turbos on there cars because they see ton's of them everyday on eBay.. So all you people that are running these turbos please give me info. Aim rb20det180sx

Here my questions.Has anyone boosted over 15psi with these turbo's? dose anyone have a dyno sheet? i just want to know how well these things hold up boosting over 15psi.. i have a friend that has one of these eBay turbo's hes been boosting 14 psi for 2 years and still no problems or shaft play

IF YOU DON'T HAVE ONE OF THESE EBAY TURBOS OR KNOW ANYONE RUNNING ONE. PLEASE DON'T POST HERE THERE ALREADY TO MANY TREADS ON THIS FORUM OF PEOPLE SAYING THESE TURBO SUCK d!ck!

I really like mine have had for 2 yrs. There are several brands out there that produce the same product. Just don't get the SSA one, can't trust anything w/ moving parts from them. There are slight modifications for everything to work, nothing big though. And it is a coin toss whether they last or not, you get what you pay for yunno. As far as boost goes they say they are efficient up to 24psi, I wouldn't take them higher than 20psi though if you want them to last. I have ran 18psi for a short time and it worked very well.

Funny you posted this. Just last week, my brother and I installed one of those identical turbos on his S13 SR20. Everything went pretty well. Ad to modify the oil return tube and one other thing, but that was it. Primed it with a ton of oil and started it. Everything sounded and looked good. Went for a test drive and there was this HORRIBLE GRINDING sound coming from the engine bay. WEnt back home and popped the hood. Sounded like it was the turbo bearings.

So we took out a stethoscope and probbed away. The engine, head, exhaust, etc all sounded normal. Put the stethoscope on the turbo and it was horrible sounding. So we took the intake piping off and spun the compressor blades by hand. All you can feel is metal grinding. So we took it all back off which is a royal pain because of the hard lines. Sent it back to them, got our money back, and bought a real S14 T28......I always told him, you get what you pay for......
