Do these things do anything? Has anyone put these on there car? I'm pretty skeptical that they would really do anything but there are so many of them out there and made by companies like HKS who usually don’t make bs I wonder if they help. The only person I know that has installed them is a ricer (on his RSX) and he says they help but I could sell him a handful of my fecal matter and tell him to rub it on his headers because it would insulate them carrying the heat away from his engine giving him an extra 5 hp and he would do it. I really don’t understand how this would help but I am struggling in Physics II (electricity and magnetism) so I would not be surprised by anything to do with electricity. If you can explain exactly what they do and how that helps I would appreciate it but if you have them on your car and know they (or don’t) work feel free to post also.

they help only if your car has a bad ground to begin with

to determine whether you need it take a multimeter, connect it to the negative on the battery terminal and then check the resistance on chasis, engine block/head, alternative, distributor, intake manifold and you could possibly make your own from 8 gauge speaker wires with gold plated connecter, just as good and much cheaper

A ground is a ground. My old ground strap at the rear of the engine was getting pretty beat and I just replaced it with a heavy gauge cable. The cheap parts store kind that is intended to go on the starter/ alternator that had ring terminals already built on both ends. They've got varying lengths so I got the 14". It works just fine.

The kits may be for applications where high power ignition and electronic systems are used and most likely not necessary for the majority of us.

isn't there a know issue with s13 having poor grounding and ultimately cause stutters?

yeah ive heard of some adding 5 to 7 horsepower. Something to do with making the engine run better with proper electrical current.

dunno how good the ebay stuff is, but made my own out of monster cable 8 gauge with gold ring terminals for my sr. I've grounded (in daisy chain) throttle plate, intake manifold, alternator, head, block, transmission all to the battery. I'll let you know how that works out since I'm in the last leg of prep work for the swap. I haven't heard of anyone gaining power from the grounds on an SR in particular though, just thought it might be a good thing to investigate.

yeah, i dunno about a swap gaining power but I know on cars that people already have just upgrading or replacing restores power back.
