no affiliation. Just thought it was a good find. Looks to be in decent shape, just needs some cleaning up. *I am even considering having a look myself*

Anything to lookout for in a z31? pretty much the same as a z32?

*my real account is mgmarsh39, i cant remeber my password and its connected to my work email haha*

the only similarity to the Z32 is the timing belt, it has to be changed or you risk tanking the engine

look for rust int he floor pans behind the seats where the rear subdrame bolts on, it's a common rust area

also lower rear quarters behind the wheels, and the lower portion fo the "A" pillars, and under the tool tray in the hatch

leaky power steerin is usually the result of boneheads adding PS fluid to the system (they use dextron type ATF same as the S130 and the Z32)

hardened cracked vac lines lead to hvac issues

and it's pretty obvious that car is suffering some severe clear coat failure, a total repaint is the only way to fix it

all things considdered I think they are more dependable than the Z32, less parts to fail

other than the paint it looks liek a decent car

Its only about 2.5 hours away, so might as well go check it out. I sold the z32 a few months ago, so time for a new project.

Ill keep ya posted.

evildky pretty much covered all the basics, and 117k isn't really that high of mileage. The CHTS is a PITA to change and seems to go out frequently, so that's something to change with the timing belt.

The car looks like it has been repainted as well. The rear bumperettes should be the same gunmetal color as the side skirts and lip.

If you are looking to pick a Z31 up, this wouldn't be a bad one. Especially for $500.

I'm debating over a Z car or a porsche 944 turbo .

I think you are right about the re-spray. Looks like overspray inside the door jam on the one pic. But like you say for 500 bucks *which Im sure itall go for more here toward the end* should be a good buy.

the 944 is a lot mor expensive when it comes to replacement parts, brake callipers, starters alternators all cost 2 to 4 times as much, and it's a much loweer production car so used parts and and junkyard finds are practically nonexistant, they are however very cheap to buy these days so if you have the space parts cars are a great bargain

yah I have owned about 5 944 n/a's. They are really expensive to work on, but have that classic 80's look. I found a 951 or 944 turbo for 5grand, but I cant justify spending that kind of money on a 23 year old car. I think I'll stick to the Z car.
