Personally, if I am going to control boost w/o a spring, I will use AVC-R. But for the Noobs, and maybe for my own sick pleasure, what is the concensus on this product:

I mean a manual boost controller is what it is, so where is the fault in a cheap one?

Purpose of this arguement is for the SEARCH button, oh, and keep your eyes out for my write-up!

Unless its like those ebay wastegates that overboost and cause the motor to blow. Im not saying it wont work, but its scary adjusting your boost pressure whether its a gate or a controller with garbage equipment.

Most manual boost controllers have one 'knob', they work by releasing pressure from the wastegate, and putting it back in the system somehow. That is to say if your WG is set for 5 psi, and you bleed 3 psi from the WG, the WG will allow 8psi. Manuals generally suck in comparison to electronic. But usually all you need to do is put a petcock, needvalve, or ball in seat valve in place and route it back to the air intake, behind the MAF. So their job is easy, and Virus uses the S-avcr so, there may not be much perspective, but I do definately need to say that I am envious.

I think that's just a tee and a needle valve in a fancy package.

I bet a good quality needle valve would be better. Plus you could configure a number of valves for different stages without having to fiddle with the needle valve. One could even hook up a solinoid to make it electric.

I just hate when people sticker slap some basic stuff and sell it as more than it is. I'm using a simple tee and needle valve.
