I bought one of these a few days ago. My vinyl steering wheel was starting to crack up a bit on the top and at look worn at 9 o'clock where I apparently rest my hand a lot. The seller took $65 using the "make an offer" feature. Maybe a little expensive at $92.17 shipped if you're comparing it with a Pep Boys wheel cover, but compared to a new steering wheel from Nissan with a MSRP of $361.16, it's a steal. Even eBay pricing on leather wrapped steering wheels have been running at $150-200 shipped before this seller started stocking them.
The swap was easy...
-be sure your steering wheel is set to dead center with the front road wheels pointing straight forward
-disconnect both battery terminals and wait 3 minutes
-remove airbag bolts from the side (10mm)
-unplug airbag connector (lift the little black outside clip upward first, there's a nice indent for a small screwdriver in the yellow part of the plug)
-unplug horn connector
-remove center nut (19mm)
-bang steering wheel on sides (even though the FSM says not to) to free it from the shaft and remove
-don't spin the spiral cable connector around with the wheel removed... it's travel is limited.
-swap back cover of steering wheel with the new one if they're different. There are 4 Phillips head screws holding it on.
-installation is the reverse of removal. (If you're following the FSM, use new air bag bolts because they're coated with a thread locker.)
I know, I should have taken pictures.
I'll be using my sunshade religiously to protect this wheel... it gives the truck a whole new feel.
For you 05+ guys, they also have the leather steering wheel for your trucks.
