need them ??? Dunno man, but lotsa proven setups out there say otherwise.want them, is more like it imo

Mobne has been running one and beating the snot outta his CA18 beast for a while.Where/when do you anticipate this 'hurt motor' will manifest itself ?http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showth...age=5...and you don't consider his effort 'serious', or the many other hi strung/stock pulley builds ?

Two full street RB25 S13s locally, hover ~7.0-7.1 1/8th. Thats close to an 11.0sec 1/4 = stupid quick for what it is. Both virgin unopened motors, complete with hefty oe gearboxes Excellent driveability/strong torque accross the rev bandsmooth as silk and an exhaust note to die for, tops off the package. Now lemme see.... pumpin' $$$ into a CA18 and droppin' hundreds on a damper is not a waste, ....but an RB25 is ?? Get real!

ok, nevermind.... all clear now - lol.

You sir, truly are a hardcore CA18 enthusiast.... by your dedicated efforts alone. Many of us CA guys will differ on some viewpoints tho.... and that's expected

I wouldn't say I am a purist. My 180 came with the motor when it was my ex's car so I started messing with it and decided it was worth my time. If the car came with a KA or an SR I would mess with that. I enjoyed all my RB20s, another motor people dismiss like the CA. If I was stateside I would likely be screwing around with a KA24.

I don't really give a rat's *** what some other guy is doing. If I did that i would likely have an SR If you think he is right do that. I think he is wrong and he is missing some power and his bearings are not going to last as long as they would have supporting a balanced dampened rotating assembly.

The RB25 is a waste when the RB26 is readily available. Unless a car already had 25 in it I would skip over the "middle child" and get the big brother or better yet turn to on the 2.8 in the corner of my shop, the really big brother.

The only reason I don't go with a bigger CA is because the CA20 block is weak and stroking the 18 block yields more friction than power.

It would be nice to pull this off though and add this to somebody's parts catalog so those that want one don't have to round up 9 other guys to get a good price.

People differ on just about any subject one could name, that's what makes conversation interesting. At least we are not talking about something crucial like Star Trek -vs- Star Wars

I hear yaWell.... when it comes to folks with a 5h1t load of successful CA18 experience. especially hi output ones, I HAVE TO "give a rats a55" what they do!Its the only way to dispell myths, avoid wasting money chasin' your tail & weed out the bull... a no-brainer, for a "reslults oriented" cat like me.

RB25 can stand alone on its own impressive credentials... without looking at a 26. It will satisfy most with only bolt-ons and at a higher quality delivery vs any 4cylIf interested in better value for your dollar, "middle-child" is a tough act to top.Spend twice as much for a 26(hype) that doesn't perform nowhere near twice as good. With a big single + ecu, 26 is only marginally better. Take your pick
