Dude thanks for making a topic on this. I just got a brand new water pump for $20. You need to use the ca18et one if your going to use the stock WP pulley. Only 6 left better jump now!

well the auction states that they are brand new. I also cross checked the part# they give in the auction with parts stores and the wp is like $60 and it says it a brand new on not a reman. I think it's a pretty good deal.

see the little nub in the center?

on the fwd that nub, and the coresponding hole in the center of the wp pulley is smaller.

you can use it on rwd, but you need the fwd pulley, and you cant rock the clutch fan anymore.

The one i listed is a direct replacement for RWD CA engines. The ca18DE is fwd and that is what he i referring to with having to replace the pulley.

What makes me so sure? Two things in particular. 1) it the very first thing listed in the faq thread. Use the CA18ET W/P and stock pulley or change to the CA18DE W/P and Pulley. 2. Notice how out of all those applications the CA18DE isn't listed. Thats because it is different. Oh an thirdly every auto parts store lists diff. part numbers for the C18ET and the CA18DE. The diff. being the CA18ET has a huge clutch fan mounted on the W/P pulley and the CA18DE being fwd does not. Thats what makes me so sure that the one i posted will work on the CA18DET.

Here are some illustrations for you:

The correct CA18ET W/P (Pictured Below)

The incorrect CA18DE W/P notice how small the center hub is. That will incorrectly center the CA18DET W/P Pulley. (Pictured Below)

And one more... A Crappy cell phone shot of the stock W/P and Pulley that is on my car. (pictured Below)

no no no, i know the difference between the rwd and fwd/awd pumps. notice i posted that answer about 3 posts before you.

i was asking how you know that guy is selling rwd ones. i didnt realize you posted your own link. i thought you were talking about the link the op put up, in which the seller lists the fwd and rwd cars.

my bad. glad you grasp it though.

just for the record, the det pulley works fine with the de pump as long as you dont use the clutch fan. i have been using an oem de pump with my det pulley for four years now and it hasnt missed a beat. before i got rid of the fan however, i couldnt make it a block without ruining the pump.

Oh it was all just a big misunderstanding then. LOL I was just really bored and decided i was going to make a mini write up on water pumps for the CA.
