I'm getting sick of being ripped off by losers on Ebay. Last time it was a Garret GT2835Pro turbo kit for my Toyota that I lost over $600 on to a loser up in Canada.

This time, it's a dude down in Navarre Florida, name's David Blake, Ebay ID msbmustang2k. I had been shopping around for a redtop engine set for a while, and came across one that came with a bunch of extras from someone abandoning their SR swap (Ebay#190144478496). I wrote and asked him how much shipping was and his price was kinda steep, so I declined. He then countered and offered to lower his price a couple hundred because he needed the money for school soon. So I agreed and paid up a healthy amount of HARD worked for money.

A couple weeks later the engine and transmission shows up, minus the turbo and A/C compressor. I question him about the turbo and he states that it wasn't on his list of items included, but if I want it, it'll be extra. Okay, that's fine, it wasn't on his list but I don't need it, I've got an extra T25. So now I'm waiting on the remaining items to be shipped:

-Darton Race Sleeves(Brand New still in box)-Koyo Race Aluminum Radiator(Brand New still in box)-Brand New Engine Wiring Harness from Nissan(still in package)-Stainless Steel Battery holder for the Optima Battery(Brand New)-Battery Relocation Kit(Brand New still in package)-Stainless Steel Brake Master Cylinder Heat Sheild(Brand New)-Every part needed to convert your automatic transmission chassis to a manual transmission chassis-ECU-Ignigter Chip-New Chrome Valve Cover Hardware-A/C Compressor-Starter

He started to flake out after I got the engine/transmission, I emailed him several times with no response about the remaining items. After a week he finally gets back to me with a sob story about his grandfather being ill and having to go out of town to help out. I'm like okay, that sucks, hope all is well but please send me my stuff soon.

A couple days later he sends me a tracking number for ONE package and a week later it shows up, but all that is in this one small box is the wiring harness, clutch fork, ECU, and starter. There's still a bunch that hasn't showed up and it's been a week. I emailed him asking where everything was and got no response, so I started a Paypal dispute to get his attention. I wrote what was missing and he wrote back agreeing that he's only sent one box and the engine, but that's everything and there's nothing else.

So I asked him to either refund me what it would cost me to purchase the parts missing seperately new or used, which came to $1265, or just send me the parts. Well, now I don't know what is up his sleeve because he actually escalated it to a claim in Paypal without writing anything else. So now I have no idea what's going on but I'm missing a crap load of stuff and this guy refused that there is anything else to send. I'm hoping he's planning on refunding me that money, but I highly doubt it. I have pictures of the engine/transmission and pictures of the small box with the tracking number on it with the contents, and have his admittance that it was all he sent which clearly isn't everything advertised in the auction.

Anyone ever have something like this happen before? If there is anyone that might know this kid down in Florida let me know, or better yet let him know he needs to send me my stuff! Paypal will not decide in his favor, I still have all the email correspondence we've had and his own admittance that he didn't send everything...I just hope I can either get a complete or partial refund. The only reason I went for his deal was for the extra parts he did NOT send, so I'm pretty disgruntled right now about it. Not a very nice way to treat people in the military either....and he said his dad is retired Air Force too...what a punk!

Does your paypal funnel through a credit card? If so you might be able to get a chargeback done through your CC company. Beyond that, you've done a good amount of working in the system. Just be sure to make sure that paypal sees the email where he admitted he didn't send everything. That's pretty condeming and should help your cause out.

Yes it does pull from my credit card, I've thought about doing that as well, but will wait and see what happens. I don't understand why someone wants to screw me over like this, but I guess there's just a lot of losers out there. The Nissan/Datsun scene used to have mostly all great people, but ever since 240's got big over the last 3-4 years and the drift scene has gotten so big it seems like a once great community has just been infested with losers and criminals trying to steal people's money. I wish they'd have just stayed in their Honda scene.... :D

You can still file a claim with eBay/PayPal. You did not get what you paid for and the seller is being flaky.

I did this when I bought a 240sx hatch (back door, not the car) from eBay. I never got a tracking number and nearly two months went by without receiving anything. I tried emailing the seller but he never responded. I finally filed my claim and the seller started writing back with apologies and whatnot. After never receiving the hatch, he refunded my money asking me to not carry on with the claim.

Take as much action as you can...maybe he just needs a fire lit under his ***.

That's the problem with thieves. They infiltrate the popular trends to find their prey. i've never had to deal with a total prick in the 4 years I've been working on 240s, but my friends have.

eBay is the worst about thieving. It's why I typically try to avoid buying big things off there unless it's from a reputable seller.

Yeah I agree, the dude had 100% feedback, so I figured he'd probably be alright, but you just never know...especially with big items. I will take it as far as I can legally. I don't know if people realize the seriousness of their actions with stuff like this. I'm a pretty mild tempered guy, but if you pissed off the wrong person doing crap like this it could get pretty ugly. I've heard lots of stories about dudes ripping people off online and then ending up in the hospital all kinds of jacked up. It just sickens me though...I've been buying on Ebay for nearly 7 years with no problems, but this is the second time in 4 months...both large purchases from "drift enthusiasts" in N. America. I think I'm pretty much done buying stuff like this from private sellers on Ebay unless they're in the same state as me.

I will do everything in my power legally to make sure this kid doesn't get away with this. Worthless scumbags!

Sucks to hear man, I don't like ebay anymore, so many sketchy people on there now. I've been having bad luck with it too lately. It used to be really reliable a few years ago.

If I had my 240 out of the shop I would drive to Navarre and kick that punks *** for you. Navarre is about 10 miles away from where I live.

Yeah, thanks man. I've been through there before, but I'm a ways away from there being in Texas. There's losers everywhere no matter where you go I guess.

I dont know...that deal just looks shady in the first place. The motorset in the picture probably isnt the one you recieved. I hate when ebay sellers put just a general picture on the auction.

Also just the extra stuff he is giving you, like the sleeves, radiator, new harness, manual conversion, etc, adds up close to 1500 dollars. So who would be stupid enough to sell a sr motorset that cheap? Obviously a scam.

Man, I feel for you on losing a lot of money. Hopefully there is nothing wrong with the engine. Then you would be really scewed. Never buy motorsets on ebay. Always buy engines from reputable sellers specializing in jdm engines and front clips.

Well Paypal decided to not give me jack...real nice considering the dude never sent so much stuff. So anyways, yeah I got screwed and if I ever run across this dude he'd better watch out. I just can't believe Paypal wouldn't do anything when the dude blatantly admitted he didn't send everything to them. WTF Paypal!?!!?! Watch yourselves out there!
