Unfortunately 12 year old cars with such low mileage may not have had their oil changed frequently enough [4 times per year] we have a 96 sitting with ~~100k that needs an engine due to owner neglect, other than that pristine.

One per year oil changes will destroy a Q engine.

This one went for $6500 and was five years older... so they may be! Nice to see the market for low mileage Q's showing some love.

Way to much considering it has had paintwork done to it....scratch repair or major accident?

Drivers seat and console shows evidence of a re-dye job-why with only 50K miles?

Lots of wear on steering wheel for 50K,more than mine with 207K,why?

Trim around radio/ac has been pulled and reinstalled incorrectly-look at gap from side angle?

Good chance the steering wheel was subjected tot he same thing as the inside door release on the drivers side. I'm thinking the previous owner used lot of alcohol based hair care products.

The radio bezel could be from a after market or satellite radio b[]de-install.

Beautiful color, but FL and TX cars still scare me. Unless you actually know the owner/car history.

When I posted the link, I did not look that carefully at the pics. But I agree with you, something fishy going on. The bodywork appears to be shoddy. Either lots of rash and bondo or a big fender bender somewhere along the way.

As far as the seat discoloration, I've got 20 bucks that says a young woman owned the car and used lots of skin cream (fake tan in a can, moisturizer etc) and over the years that stuff oozed off her and all over that seat and armrest. If the car was in Florida, it would fit. I wonder if she was hot?

I've been lusting over this Q for the past two days and noticed the updated listing today with all new pics.

But I've gotta give it up to qship96, because I didn't notice any of the flaws on this Q, probably because at a glance it does look very good.

And it also happens to be one of the rare factory Bordeaux Pearl 96 G50's.

Nonetheless, I'm smitten!

T3 has a ~120k 96Q in very good to excellant that needs an engine [JDM in stock ready to install]. Talk to TY - This could be yours for less than $6k. You probably can even have the old engine for spares.

Those in ATL might take a look. Don't ask for pictures I'm lazy.

The car is from Florida with low miles.... the woman you speak of is likely incapable of driving now - no license any more. Does that change your mental image a little?

Not to be a nitpicker here but me thinks you may be confusing the poor quality of a digi cam? and reflections from the sun ? Those images are not very good.

I also think that the sellers would not have been so thorough with their images/snapshots of as much as possible of the car if there were the flaws that you point out.

Seems like a well cared for car to me. Plus there is no mention of the services preformed and by whom ?

If I had the time I would bid on the car, BUT I already have my perfect Florida car. 2000 Q 45 92000 miles $8751.00. Plus the yard is getting crowed.

I'll bet that they sell that car for what they ask $8900.00 ?

Keep in mind that there are alot of cars in Florida which belong to "snowbirds" and are only driven a couple thousand miles in the winter and sit in the garage for the rest of the year. However the fact that there is a front tag holder with a frame makes me think that it is an out of state car, because Florida has only rear tags. With all the hurricanes in the last few years, I would research all Florida purchases carefully to ensure you're not getting a car that was flooded out.

Keep in mind that MY perfect Florida car did come with the front bumper tag holder. The car spent it's career in Florida, or, at least the seller lived in Florida full time. I removed it because we have only rear tags also. Thus rendering my car slightly flawed due to marks and holes left after removal of said, offending, un-used tag holder.

Actually the color of that car is what I would have liked to have but after waiting for one to show up with no luck I went for a "gold beige". Also a nice color and doesn't show "dirt" much.

If you cant clearly see the faults that I pointed out,you need to get your eyes checked.....and bring along someone with much better eyesight and attention to details when shopping for ANY automobile!

They will never get 8900. for that car, unless it is from an uneducated, unsophisticated purchaser..........

I'd never thought of that. When the seller's say "Low mileage, hardly driven" that may also mean, "hardly serviced". I guess maybe they feel that since the car doesn't move much, the one oil change is sufficient.

I guess a high mileage Q that's been serviced well is better than a low mileage/annual oil change one?

Maybe a vanity tag? Or one of the dealer ones? It sucks to have a Q in NJ. We're required to have two tags. I'd love to kick the front one and have the metal one with the Infiniti logo.

I noticed that the keys had valet keys? Is that what they were? Did the Q's not have the huge metal key in '96?

Same here in Cali. But as you can see on my sig I don't have one up front. You could get a ticket for that. I've gotten 1 ticket in the 8 1/2 years I've had the car, and it was at one of the LAX parking lots. I'd left the car there while I was on a quick 5 day tour.

I got a ticket once for having a Haitian flag plate on the front of my Jeep. It was at one of those "Safe For the Summer" checkpoints that these jerk Westampton cops put up as soon as you got off the ramp on I-295. I couldn't believe it. I had my other plate on the dash, but it wasn't enough. I guess I also shouldn't have called him a d!ck, but I didn't think he was within earshot. I said it while digging in the glovebox. I thought he walked away. He was right there in the window and heard every word. Oh well.

I emailed a few folks on this Q and found a guy who had seen and driven it. He said it was in good shape all around. He did say there was an obvious brush touch-up on the driver's side door. He knew nothing about the service history of the car. Has anyone tried to get this Q looked up by VIN at a dealership?

The current bid is over $7,000, and with 3 days left. At that price I'd want every oil change record since new!

As of 6:20 PM CST, the 50th bid on that Q was at $7,301.

I'm shocked that it got so high so quickly. Unbelievable!

Getting close to 8900 bucks?

Well there is a quote, above, from an actual eyewitness and all the faults that the smart guy above with the good eyes are not mentioned save one:The hand painted touch up on the door.

As far as cameras are concerned good to excellent quality photos are not achieved with cheap digi cameras. I started using a 2 mega-pixel and then purchased a six mega-pixel Canon Power Shot A540, four times optical zoom. I cannot tell any difference between the two in the quality of the photos. I have discussed this with others and the consensus is the same, making me wonder why did I purchase the new camera. However not having good eyes, and, admitting that I could be wrong is also a fault I do have. So I could be WRONG?

My daughter has a Pentax, don't recall the model, that cost her 1200 bucks with all the pizzaz AND that camera does take pics with exquisite detail.

Now I'm not discounting the fact that some folks have the ability to see the un-seen but those usually hang out on the Voodoo websites.

Neither here nor there and I'm sticking to my predictions that they will sell that car for the asking.?

I also am of the opinion that sellers of cars do visit the websites of car aficionados and they, the subject Q45 sellers, are probably having a ball in the sales office reading these silly arguments and just waiting to collect their share of what should be a considerable profit on this Ebay offering IF they did their due diligence and probably have around 2-3000 bucks invested in this almost flawless OLD beauty.

I think the car looks good from the photos...

The spots on the center arm rest are reflections...they shift with different camera angles. I didn't see any paint chips, what I thought was a lower bumper curb smack was a reflection from the driveway.

The thing about low mile G50s is the maintenance..its a crapo shoot. If you get a good car there is nothing like taking it to the resto level as most of us do...Tokicos, larger Wheels, FSTB, etc.

I'm not sold on the color like you guys are. Its "old fashion" to my eyes.

Funny you mentioned that. I have been using a 1.3 Megapixel Cannon since the late 90s for my real estate work, and bought the A540 for my wife for a Christmas present in 2006. I can tell a pretty substantial difference in the pictures, but I think I have the Olympus set to a low resolution... I get 980 pictures on a 64MB card! My only complaint on the Cannon is that it eats batteries like popcorn, and I haven't figured out how to turn the flash off. Maybe I should read the owner's manual.

It's an old car. The color fits the times and the style.

I purchased a '90 240 a couple of years back with the intention of rebuild and repaint, which I did.

About that time the 350 came into being, or slightly before, and I was taken with the new paint schemes of the car. I was particularly attracted to that new "metallic orange" color. I did the paint on the 240 using that paint and was disappointed with the results.

What looked good on the 350 looked not right on the 240. The 350 is a new gen and "edgy" and that color fits the new look. Just does not look right on the old 240.

I regret having done the paint change since the new paint cost 800 bucks and a lotta work to do the entire car to have it not look right.

Live and learn.

Jack

The bid is at 7500 for the "old girl" ? Will it go more ? ? ?
