Ebay $10 Ecu Chip?

i was recently lookin for somethings for the 92 240 hatch i just got. i was on ebay and i came across an ECU chips that sell for $10. I was wondering if these chips are reliable or negood? and will it damage my motor? the faq for the ad claims no engine damage but id like to hear what you guys think. thanks

I wouldn't mess with stuff that costs 10 bucks for your ecu. save your money for a piggy back like an afc or something if you want to tweak your ecu. Chances are the ecu chip is crap and will cause you more grief than it's worth or do nothing at all.

Not this again! That "chip" they're selling on eBay is actually a resistor or capacitor (forget which one) that you can get at Radio Shack for less than a dollar that fools your car's ecu into thinking that the IAT sensor is telling it that the air is cold. Do a search (red button in upper right corner) for eBay chip mod and you'll find all the info on it.
