What is the simplest way to remove/replace the fuel filter on a J30? From what I can tell, the lower hose clamp has a screw on it that would be very difficult to loosen in its present state. Does the filter itself lift out of the holder with a little work, or do I need to loosen the nut on that as well?

Loosen the holder nut to allow you to lift the filter up a little.

Then the lower hose clamp screw will be easier to remove.

This is still a pain. It's not that it's a difficult procedure at all, just very cramped space.
