Drop trans underneath seperately, pull motor alone out the top. It's possibly to remove both motor and trans at the same time but you have to be more careful where and how you hook it up to the engine hoist due to weight capacities. Also will need to be more careful on steering rack if pulling engine+trans together.

Which? The motor mounts or transmission mounts? That's simple stuff, it's all of the wiring and hoses/piping that takes longer to remove. 1 nut per motor mount (one either side) and 6 bolts holding the transmission crossmember on.

HAhA there is no easy way to pull a 300zx mortor these are not 420a motors or b16 or somthing like that but yes the wiring is the hardest! make sure you label the wires, or and another thing that i had trouble with is alot of bolts striped becasue its an aluminum head. so be careful, you do not want to make more work by having to drill out bolts and tap them...

If your not putting a Z32 engine back in, then just cut the wiring, as the harness will be usless for a V8 engine. Unbolt trans and engine mounts.

Why would you do that? That sounds like a great way to destroy something you may need, not to mention the fact that if his harness is in alright shape he could probably sell it for a bit.
