Easy and cheap HP mods?

hey, I was looking at a guy's car domain page and saw a lot of small things he had done to his car to make a bit more power. things like, 300zx fuel filter, removed emissions system etc.

I was wondering i anyone could link me to a page about removing the emissions system, or letting me know any ways to gain slight horsepower by replacing old parts, and which parts to replace them with. Thanks

This feels like a noob question, but my computer is rediculously slow and I figure this would be easier to come back to. Sorry if this bothers anyone.
