I just wanted to say, my car sucks @$$ in the snow....My Jetta did a better job in this weather. Im VERY disappointed. The whole purpose of buying an A/C was because the G is a rear wheel car!!! I'm already looking into trading her in What does everyone else think?

What type of wheels / tires are you using?

This is quite awful, more and more threads about people being disappointed with their A/C for one reason or another.

The stock tires are crap in too much snow. Theres your problem right there. Get snow tires.

The Coupe is fine in the snow, its all about what your driving on.

I'm not an expert on snow (because we don't really have any in Southern California), but you can check out TireRack's winter tires:http://www.tirerack.com/winter/index.jsp

Select your car on the right and go from there. Should be straightforward.

I agree with Shift_Coupe. It's all about the contact! I took my stock tires off and replaced it with the Nokian Hakkapeliitta and during the storm last night coming home from work, I was on the left hand lane doing 65 while everyone else was on the right doing 35 - 40 Got home in time for dinner and that's a good thing! Get rid of your tires and you'll be a happy camper!

VWs are designed in Germany(cold weather climate), hence that's part of the equation(tires being the bigger part). My Beetle was great on ice & snow with all season tires.

Good lord. Someone (generic or shift that's your cues lol ) add to the "READ FIRST" sticky to warn that the OEM tires are crap in snow and only good in light rain and sunny skies.

you don't buy a car at expecting them to have winter tires! you are supposed to buy them before the winter and install them when the first snow falls.

its like saying that your feets are freezing in your 4-seasons nike trail shoes. DUH! 4 SEASONS lol

anyways here's my winter tire thread I posted like 4 times zer...98057

oh and by the way, I can't belive you're thinking of trading her in lol.I changed my tires to Michelin Pilot Alpin PA3 on my 3.5 and it's awesome now! and the VDC (vehicule dynamic control) really helps a lot!

Actually my sedan does pretty good in the snow. Friday afternoon it was slush all over the roads but I never felt like I was gonna slip out of control on the turanza's. Gotta love keeping her in 1st gear while everyone else on the highway is riding their brakes
