so I have an S13 and looking at the fsm, it says you have to remove the front swaybar and hoist the motor up just to remove the oilpan. is this the only way? I mean, thats so much to do for a meager task. I guess thats what I get for not just getting a new oil pump, and reuseing my old one, which was leaking unfortunatly.

try without removing it, see what happens, not that removing the swaybar is hard or anything.........

-Put the front end up on jack stands

-Remove motor mount bolts from underneath

-Take off the sway bar

-Jack up the motor using the......jack..... w/a small piece of wood

-Remove oil pan

its a simple job, but you may get dirty

oooooh. that's a good idea, I din't think of that. Jack the motor up, like on the bellhousing?I thought I was gonna have to borrow the engine hoist again, but this way seems simpler
