however i should note that if you are going up a hill in fifth i hope you are going fast. the torque you need for hill climbing in fifth is barely available below 2500rpm. i would try to at least be over 2000rpm going up a hill to avoid lugging it. lugging is bad.

When i am pulling a hill i try to keep it at around 2800 and if it is an incredibly steep hill, (like most around here) I will usually down shift to fourth gear but i still dont feel much power. And the power loss usily hits me at around 3100 rpm wich should be high enough to preven blogging. But thanxs for the info.
