People are always spending money on a good shape 300zx n/a that are about the same price as a 300zxtt that is in bad shape... then just to do a 300zx tt swap into their n/a. Wouldnt it just be alot easier to buy a cheap 300zxtt then do a engine swap or rebuild the engine?

Wouldnt a 300zxtt this cheap be easier?

5,900 for a 300zxtt 5spd!!!!!!! Draw back 170k miles but if you do a engine swap it would be just fine?

what do yall think? would it be good for a swap?Thanx

Personally, I would opt for the low mileage N/A and the swap. One reason is insurance. Also in the high mileage TT you will probably have to replace all of the bushings and a lot more problems with suspension and driveline fatigue to deal with. However you may get lucky and already have some/most of these things replaced and rebuilt.

Basically you would be taking the good with the bad, either way it will be about the same amount of money. 500hp costs 500hp no matter what way you look at it. (I am not saying you want it to be 500hp, just an example)

just my .02

Well a crappy TT has just as much problems to it as a decent N/A if you think about it. I mean I bought a crappy N/A and am swapping so I got the worst of both here.

Well the HICAS usually would be useless in an old TT and the engine expensive to rebuild or swap. (to me 1k or more is expensive). However I think if I could get a running TT for that price, I would take it. Just because my swap is kicking my *** right now.

You gotta realise that Z in the picture, you are paying for that engine and if you want to swap it will cost you again.

However the lines are all there and you got intercoolers, manifolds, turbos, and a lot of crap you could indeed sell off too. A straight swap to me is heavenly sounding. I had to do it the hard way.....

Good luck no matter what, if you swap let me know

yeah that is what i have heard but how hard is it to upgrade the internals? With this tt so cheap i could really throw down lots of money on upgrades about 12k for upgrades . I was planning of buying an engine hoist and do all the work over the summer. Once i get the engine out shouldnt be easy to work on and put back in>?

I'm buying an N/A MR2 for this reason exactly. the insurance difference overtime more than makes up for going the other way.

nope, it kills me the myths surrounding insurance companies, you can go online and get a quote for free from progressive and compare what estimates run on different cars and you'll see there isn' even a option as to what transmission the car has, or you can simply call your current insurance company and ask them to quote a change, they do this for free, it's their job, don't be afraid to make them earn their comission
