Hi all,Just re-joined (seem to have lost my original I.D. and stuff).

I'm all about the Early Datsuns. I have four 411's (that's pre-510 for those who don't know). I hope to be promoting activity and informing anyone who'll listen about these great little cars.

The Early Datsuns include:
  • 1000, 320, 520, 521, etc. pickups
  • 1000, 212, 312, 410, 411 sedans
  • the mid-'60's Silvia, all 55 of them

What I have are:
  • '67 RL411 1600 automatic sedan, grey, "Grace" :icesangel
  • '67.5 RL411 SSS wagon, automatic, red of course, "Suzie"
  • '67.5 RL411 SSS sedan, stick of course & red of course, "Lucille"
  • '67 PL411 sedan, stick, sora blue, parts car

Formerly owned:
  • '67.5 RL411 sedan, red of course, stick of course, bought 3/68 - died 11/71
  • '65 PL320 pickup, stick - too small to fit me, sold 2002
  • '64 PL320 pickup, 3-on-the-tree - too small to fit me, sold 2002

I invite ANYONE who has, or once had, or likes, or is interested in the Early Datsuns in the NICO "Datsun" forum. :ylsuper

Welcome to NICO Carl!

As the other members can see, he is very experienced and will really be able to add a lot of value to our calssic Nissan/Datsun sections.

Trying to attach a pic of my 'Grace'. You can also read the story here at NICO under'Member's Rides - Awsome Datsun'.

The wheels you see on 'Grace' are dealer-option wheels. I can swear to that as they are the same as what came on my first RL411 SSS purchased new in March '68 at Perris Datsun (CA).

The other interesting detail is that they're 'PLUS-ONE' concept... perhaps one of the earliest iterations. I have three sets of these, and one set of the center caps (minus the spinners - still looking for spinners).

Glad you asked.

I'd be glad to tell more stories... about the cars that is. But first I have to steal the time. Plus you didn't specify Datsun, so I'll just assume you don't want to hear about the others.

I have a PowerPoint presentation posted (either PowerPoint or with your browser if you don't have PPT) that covers all my present vehicles and a decent sampling of the ones I've had, in case anyone's interested, at

Just trying out the 'quote' thing, hoping to repost this to the Early Datsun forum. We'll see what happens.

Whether you own an Infiniti, Nissan or Datsun....there is an incredible story of an underdog, succeding through perserverance, and insistance upon quality as the number one ingredient for success. That is the history of Nissan/Infiniti in a nut shell..the details are fantastic reading and the cars are living tributes to our history..a history that if lesser men had carried the torch we would not be here (NICO) and you wouldn't be driving these great cars. Carl will add a lot as will our Vintage Nissan site. Thanks to those of you whose warm welcome indicate that you see the light! SD
