I'm not sure why it matters whether or not the government is sending congratulatory form letters from its legislative and executive offices. This is an American tradition I don't understand. I'm not sure why members of congress, governors, or the president should care or pretend to.
I don't know what the significance of becoming an Eagle is, nor do I care to find out. I know that congratulating a young person for an accomplishment with a generic form letter is a pretty insignificant.
Congrats to the folks who made it that far, but there's much more important things the government could be doing (or ruining).
And if its a private organization, why is there an expectation of recognition from public employees? I can't believe you guys are angry over something so small. Maybe you missed out on the thousand-page healthcare bill that's slowly becoming a frightening reality.
