I just got me some new Eagle ESP H-Beam Connecting Rods, I keep reading something about alignment sleves. Im assumin these sleeves are the bearings for the rod. I wasnt sure so i order some bearing from nissan and they dont fit properly. So my question is do i need to purchase bearings or are the rods already set up for installation with out bearings ??

When you say bearing, are you talking about the rod bearing in the big end or the wrist pin bushing in the small end? Your post doesn't clarify.

Here's what I found about alignment sleevesQuote »The rods have precision cap alignment sleeves to positively locate each rod cap.[/quote]That just means that the rod cap has less chance for walking under high rpm load.

I would assume that a standard set of Nissan rod bearings will fit the eagle rod since it's designed to be compatable with a Nissan crank. Are you sure you ordered the right bearings? rod bearings are always sold in halves, so you'd have had to have bought two halves to equal one bearing. Main bearings are sold with both halves.

One thingto watch out for is that Nissan does sell undersized bearings for if you've had to machine the crank for any reason. I ran into this with my main bearings for my SR. They sell them in a complete set with no difference in bearing grades. Standard Nissan bearings will always require you to supply the bearing grade.

In the end, I think you'd be best to contact Tech Support with eagle and ask them exactly what needs to be done.
