i posted this on another forum but seems like no one can help me there and i was wonderin if you guys can

im going to be doing a manual swap on a 92 vert(original motor)

1. any manual transmission from 91-98 should bolt up perfect, correct?2. if they do fit how come onhttp://www.frsport.com/Exedy_0....htmlandhttp: ... ..htmlthey are specifically separated on the vehicle applications WITHIN 91-98shouldnt one kit fit on all years from 91 to 98?3. what does OBD stand for?4. what is the difference between a OBDI and II tranny5.if i get a manual transmission from 95 and up do i need to replace the s14 driveshaft with a one from an s13?

6. to do a silvia front end conversion do you need to do any frame modifications in this area?or any frame modifications PERIOD. or is the only thing i really need are headlight brackets for the silvia headlights.( i am aware i need headlights, cornerlights, bumper, fender, hood, etc)

Any ka24de transmission will work.OBD- On Board Diagnostics

I'm pretty sure you have to swap out the core supports for the conversion.

That's all I can help with other than....

According to Exedy, there are differences among the two. According to other companies, like ACT, they are exactly the same. The Exedy ones, there are minor differences, for exacts, you can contact them directly and ask...

obd i vs obd ii = obd ii has more things, you can search it on google.

silvia front (s13) is direct bolt-in... s14 silvia & s15 silvia front on s13, you need to modify some things... you should really search...

Just some more...

Any 5spd 89-98 will work on S13.

Didn't look like FRsport was seperate the clutch kits, looks like they said it would fit either 91-94 or 95-98.

Silvia conversion, if you get everything its bolt up (head light mounts and silvia bumper support). Then just the wiring for the lights needs to be wired up.

1. yes. if you buy a transmission from any 95-98, you will have to change the trans mount bracket though. 2. dont know. each company has their own way of doing things. 3. OBD = On Board Diagnostics4. the OBDII trans has more sensors (IE: crank angle sensor), whereas the OBDI trans does not. 5. yes6. the S13 Silvia front end is a direct bolt on. the only modification required is extending the corner light wires which is an easy task. if your thinking about the S14/S15 fronts, then there is more work involved.

i know how frustrating searching can be sometimes. hope that helps some.

IF YOUR 240SX IS AUTO AND U HAVE 2 A KA THEN U SHOULD BE ABLE TO INSTALL ANY M/T. I KNOW THE DEALERSHIP HAS DIFFERENT PART NUMBERS FOR THE KA24DE AND THE KA24E BUT THE TRUTH IS THE FLYWHEEL, CLUTCH, AND A LOT MORE STUFF FIT ON EITHER ENGINE. YOU'LL NEED TO GO SEARCHING FOR A CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER, LINES, AND SLAVE CYLINDER.
