E60 MAF WIRED

can an E60 be wired to work as well as a 300zx it has three wires two of which is in a shieled jacket and a third one is yellow I think.I attached the yelow to the power on my harness and white to white black to black and when I fired up the car it ran super rich,black smoke and would stumble for a second or two and shut off.hooked my sr MAF back up and ran great until I figure out if this MAF will work or get a 300zx one or Q45 one.Thanks Spotteddawg. Don't you need a tuned ECU or an SAFC to run a bigger maf correctly? I was wondering about using an E60 with an SAFC. Does anybody got any ideas?
