E6 ecu to 62 ecu?

I tried searching but just found fs or wtb ecu. I was wondering if i can use a ecu 62 in place of my E6? I found a tomei ecu i want to buy and need to know.

An E6 ECU is an auto S13 blacktop ECU, a 62 is a manual redtop ECU. The O2 sensor needs to be changed to the older redtop thin style sensor, and the O2 wiring on the ECU plug needs to be changed in order for the O2 sensor to work right. Other than that the engine should run just fine.

what should i change on the o2 sensor wire? And your sure this is the only things I have to change to use this ecu.

yes he is correct. (Not sure about wiring tho...)

The type of O2 is the only difference. I know this for fact because the pinouts are the same and I plugged in my 62 ECU when my friend was using a E5 ECU and it ran perfectly.

when i got my sr it had the skinny o2 sensor. and as soon as i get an email back from the person selling the ecu i am going to get it

no it didn't. my cas was still good. one reason i am getting this ecu is so i can have a led light to check for codes. the one i have now doesn't

I'm not sure if what you say about the wiring is true. I am using a 62 ecu with a blacktop motor and didn't have to change any O2 sensors or wiring to get it to run.

That is because the engine will run without the O2 sensor plugged in...
