e to de tach question

im doing a e to de swap. ive read that you need to put the 91-94 tach in. I was wondering why. Since they are both 4 cylinders, why would it matter?

because one is a dohc and one is a sohc the signal from the camshaft position sensor to the tach is different.... trust me i know when i was putting my hud dash w/ sohc gauge cluster in my 93 dohc 240 the tach didnt work.... so i took apart the clusters and swapped the internals on the tachs
