There is too much lift involved with the after market cams when used with the E pistons. There are certain clearance issues involved. There is a piston that can be used with no problems at all. This piston came in the 1986-1989 NAPS-Z 24 or known as the z24 or z24i.These pistons have fly cuts in them that allow better use of high lift cams on the DE. It should be a direct fit to the rods, but DeviousKA would know for shure....There is a drop in compression compared to E pistons, I believe something like 10.3:1 or 10.5:1 I haven't done the math so I couldn't tell you what the exact compression is. But they do work.

bigvin, the z24 piston have a dish and it "looks" deeper than the DE. the valve reliefs are tiny and may not match up enough to make a difference. hopefully devious chimes in and gives us insight.'

talk to the cam co, they could recomend some profiles. They may have some custom grinds for application that not many people know about.
