Nope. The E-manage uses a special USB-Serial plug that has a chip inside the serial end of it. So you need the cable Greddy provides. There are a few people out there selling their own hacked cable that works. But to connect it to a USB port on a laptop, you need to have a connector that you connect to the serial end of the Greddy cable with a USB connection on the other end. According to the FAQ on the E-Manage Yahoogroups site:
"There have been some questions about using a USB-serial adapter on a laptop that doesn't have serial ports to hook up the Greddy support tool cable. The Belkin FSU-109 adapter has worked for some people, but it didn't for one person - for them, the IOGear GUC232A worked perfectly. Just make sure whatever adapter you get can be returned to the store in case it doesn't work."
