I installed an e-fan 2 weeks ago and I had a similar problem. It would get down to idle then just rev up to 3000 rpm and sit there without anyone touching the gas. I found out that it was because of the A/C override wire that I connected. there was a high and a low. I connected both to the same override. Although I have a 95 240sx and I don't know if it is the same on the 90 240sx but I if you did connect the A\C override wire then it's worth a try.

If it was doing this before you hooked up the fans then the problem is not caused by the fan.? Did it start when you removed the clutch fan? Did you unhook or cut any factory wires? ohh. and use periods in your sentences, it makes you not look like an egnoramous.

Ok so all i did was remove the clutch fan. It didn't do anything before i notice it does it when its going to reach 2000 rpms and i lowers and then it goes full throttle

removing the clutch fan shouldn't have anything to do with what your experiencing. Try checking your belts or anything you may have damaged while removing everything.

they are all new belts, someone told me to make my idle higher but i don't trust that. Should i just put back the old fan on?

one you should read how to wire up efans using relays. its really simple and cheap. and on top of that use a temp sensor or thermo to trigger the fans, as it is easy to forget to kick the switch off and over heat the motor.

and if this idle problem only happens when the fans are on, then I would think its caused by the additional pull on your alternator and in that case a small increase in idle wouldnt be a bad idea. But if this problem happens without the fans being on then that won't fix it.

Like someone said you must have unplugged a sensor, cut a wire, or maybe the power wire you ran into the cab is grounding out somewhere like on the firewall where it enters the cab...
