Hey im gonna be doing an engine build over the summer and ive searched everywhere where did you all go to get your engine work done boring and so on im going for 500 hp turbo (obviously) and i wanted to know what your experience was like. im looking for a place in either NC or FL. thanks.

IMHO buy a built block from AMS if your going for that much power. Definitely worth the money. If you factor in the hourly work it will take you to rebuild multiply it by 10$-or80$ flat rate if you're inclined. Then add in the price of your parts. It's much better to have the guys at AMS do all the dirty work for you.

Thats what I did. Ordered my shortblock on Friday actually. I can do all of the other work myself. But finding a reputable local shop that has experience with the ka.... hahaha. I'd rather go with a big name in the game.
