Sup guys, I recently replaced all my pads and rotors on my 93 s13. I noticed that no matter how much I try and tighten the adjusting screw on the e-brake, it still doesn't "lock up" as well as my 91. I've already played around with it by tightening and loosening it a bunch of times, and the car doesnt seem to have any air in the lines. Do you guys have any similar cases that you've corrected? Thanks!

Check the ebrake connection at the bottom of the rear calipers. Mine had a similar problem, one would grip, the other didn't and it pissed me off so I went and checked, one of the bolts was loose that holds the ebrake cable to the calipers. Aligned the holes and tightened down the bolt and had to readjust the ebrake screw up front but yeah voila.

hhmmm, it does seem like one of the sides locks up before the other....did you have to pull higher than the locking point to get the rear tires to squeel? By the way, thanks for the info!

Nah they're just set to factory spec, 8-10 clicks before you need to exert more than 40-50 lbs of force. To get the tires to squeal...hmm I just gun through a corner and my tires usually squal by themselves although I did pop the ebrake after I changed pads. But yeah didn't have any other problems after I had a look at the ebrake cables on the calipers. You may have a twist in one of the lines or maybe one of them disconnected or streched. Might want to have a look around the rear subframe (near the front of it) and check if any of your ebrake cables came off from the main part. There are three cables, one from the handle, and two that come off from that one at the handle that runs to each wheel.

yeah, i've looked at the cables, it seems like the cable pulls, but the part that connects to the caliper doesnt seem to move that much. It seems like no matter where I set the adjusting nut, i get the same amount of movement from that part of the caliper.....PS - I meant squealing from the tires by locking the ebrake in a straight line. I can do it easily with my 91, but the 93 doesnt....Thanks again!

Might wanna try spraying down the ebrake cable that bolts to the caliper with some lube at the spring and part that moves. Only other thing that I can think of is that your seals in the rear are somehow holding onto the piston and keeping them from moving around more freely. PS you'll have to lube the piston with brake fluid after pulling the dust boot from the piston if it is the seal stuff.
