I had the same problem check your brake line. If there is a leak and your losing brake fluid the light wont go off when u disengage the e brake and its annoying as hell, not to mention unsafe cause ur losing brake fluid. Check your resevoir 2, it might be low

I dont think thats the problem. I have totally stripped out my interior twice. The E brake light sensor is attached to the handle itself. So take out the center console- not too hard, then look at the sensor, It adjusts by turning one screw.

The BRAKE light is not only to let you know that the E-Brake is on. It also means that something is up with the main braking system. Try checking your fluid level in the master cylinder.

1dollar240 i think you were the only one who read that post right he was talking about the E BRAKE LIGHT the one that goes on when you pull the e brake while the car is on that has nothing to do with rest of the systemn its just a small pin switch that comes loose under the e brake handle an you tighten it up an reposition it an its fixed i know i ve had the same problem.

ACTUALLY SLW240SX, the e-brake light WILL come on when the brake system is losing fluid. It happened to me, like i said originally, I could look at the e brake light, disengage the e-brake completely and the light would STILL be on. I got the leak patched, filled it with some more brake fluid, and it went off right away. 1dollar240 hit on the OTHER possibility that the e-brake sensor is damaged or loosened. I fail to see any misreading of the post, what is with people on this forum board? READ!!
