i was just on e-bay cause i remember someone telling me abou these chips...i went on e-bay and it wasn't really a chip just something that connects to my air intake temp sensor. it also says it would give me 20 hp. it only costs 12 bucks and another 3 for shipping. my friend just bought one for his non turob 3z but hasn't installed it yet. just wondering it these things work and if anyone here has bought them or knows anything about them. thanks.

isnt it just a resistor? Get it from radioshack for less than a buck

although I've never seen actual reports on damage to engines from using that stuff, it's probably a bad idea.

From what I've gathered, it's basically a resistor that tricks the computer into thinking the air flow is lower than it is, thus the computer compensates for low airflow by allowing more air into the mixture. I don't know if it would cause any real damage to either your computer or engine, but something like this is likely to only give you a few HP, and lower overall performance cuz the engine isn't operating at it's optimum. Additionaly, as alluring it may be to get a few hp for so cheap, it can be far more expensive if the thing does more damage than good. So, IMO it's not really worth it. PEACE. Tek.

No no, you got it all wrong. It goes on your intake air temp sensor and tricks the ecu into thinking that the incoming air is cooler. The ecu will then allow the timing to be advanced a little more. Here's a thread on it http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....istor

Here's what you can do, spend the 15 bucks on a cheap timing light and start filling your car with premium gas. Manually advance the timing a degree or two at the distributor.
