whats up yall, i just ordered an oil pump from pep boys for $92. im almost positive this does not include a new from cover, just the pieces that sit behing and bolt onto the cover. do the E and DE use the same parts? on their computer it said 89-98 240sx ka24E. i went ahead and ordered it anyways cause it said all year 240s and i can always get my money back. ive been having a hard time trying to find one locally around here. nissan and napa both want 250+ and their the only other places local that have it. but those two come with a new front cover.

The two pumps are about the same as a dildo and a chainsaw.

EDIT: Most things that claim to fit "all 240 models" really fit 91-98 240 models, so you should be good. The kae is like the little-known underdog.

1: The way you're talking about the pump leads me to think you have a de, as does your sig.

2: It has been my experience that most parts, if not all, which claim to be for all model 240s are in fact for ka24de 240s.

3: You said the part you ordered claimed to be for all 240s.

So I'm thinking you'll be good. Sorry for the confusion.

ok, yeah i have a DE. the thing that confused me is when you said that both pumps are about the same as a dildo and a chainsaw, which to me is nothing alike at all. so that led me to think that infact, from your dildo comparsion statement, both the E and DE pumps are different. im thinking i should be alright as well because its below the head. im gonna bring my front cover with the pump still bolted on it when i go to pick it up. fukers better have my pump!

Not to say I couldnt be wrong, but chances are that you will have a sohc oil pump waiting for you.

The sohc and dohc oil pumps are completely different as far as the 240sx is concerned. The truck ka24de, however, used a sohc type oil pump all the way up to year 2004.

The ka24de 240sx oil pump is basically built into/inside the front cover. In order to get a completely new part with fresh tolerances all around you would need a complete front cover, and that is why the price qoutes are so high.

You can buy the few components to freshen up the pump housed in your cover now, but they are usually not sold this way. Best case scenario for your situation is that these are the components you purchased.

i was hoping youd reply devious. so youre saying i might have the components to basically rebuild my pump while still using my same front cover? or you hope so LOL? yeah i figured what the the hell 50/50. i told the ***** a 95 240 and thats what came up so well find out tuesday what they sent me. and yes i was searching wholesale sites the other day on google and came across a site that sells the individual parts to basically rebuild your own. http://www.buynissanparts.com is the web site. if the pepboy deal falls through im just gonna get one from nissan and call it a day. ill post up and tell yall what happens.
