Well I took out my SBC ID III and installed a Greddy E-01. The boost control works fine, but I can't seem to get the speed or rpm signals to *pickup*. I used both signals that go to the gauge cluster by the ECU (RPM-Y/R|Speed-Y/G). The speed signal worked for the Blitz unit but not the E-01. The RPM signal, I have never gotten to work at all (stock tach works though, so there's a signal in the wire). Anyway, if any of you know what wires I should be aiming at, or what settings I should change the unit to in order for it to recognize a signal, then chime on in.

RPM is the Yellow with Red stripe off the ecu

I thoguht you needed an extra harnessy thing to get speed?

Nope, like I posted earlier: Speed is Yellow/Green wire which worked with my SBC ID-III/Power Meter ID-III. I know the dash RPM wire is Yellow/Red which I also posted earlier (I tried it). I think that since the motor is DIS, it may have a weak RPM signal that can't drive aftermarket tachometer pickups. For those who have aftermarket tachs on the SR20, where did you get the signal to run it from?

I have the profec E-01. I am using the Yellow w/Red off of the ecu for tach. IT works perfectly.

I made a mistake and put my yellow wire (optional OUTPUT) onto my speed wire, thinkin it was an INPUT. Hopefully when I take it off later today, my RPM will read out.

my does the same thing.....but im think mine is the yellow/green too....thats actually SPEED sensor imput to the ecu NOT TPS which would read RPM....altough it works fine on my SAFC....

I got the RPM to work. I had it on the right wire and everything, even the settings. The E-01 just needed to readjust itself. I had to go back to the "car settings" and change the cyl from 4 to anything else, then it will read incorrect rpm (after reading nothing at all), and when I changed it back to 4 cylinder, it would finally read the correct rpm. I also don't totally understand the boost settings on this thing. Everytime I get it to boost where I want it, it wont ever do it more then once! Sometimes it will hit the target boost then drop back down to stock then target then stock (during the same pull). I didn't have too much time to mess with it as the trip home from work is only a 40 min drive (40 mins of fiddling and still couldnt get it).

the auto programming mode is REALLY finiky. Until it is programed it will do lots of weird things like that.

The manual suggests doing pulls in 3rd or 4th.. I found this can be difficult, 2nd or 3rd up hill seems to create enough load.

sounds like hes tryin to do manual mode.....i have yet to try the auto mode....(need some race gas to set hi boost to 22psi) but try messing with the duty cycle....i had that **** spike to like 16psi on my t25 b4 when i couldnt get it to budge past 12psi with the gain and set really high......then we messed with that and u can set it up in 500rpm increments .....so jjust fiddle with that......start at thye rpm when it drops back down

I can't play with RPM offset until I get the boost to at least try to even hold. It doesnt fall off slowly, it falls off like a rock like within half a second. Like case n' point: Today I drove and floored it in 3rd gear. Boost climbed like normal rocketing to 13.9psi (I am trying to get 14psi daily) and right when it hits that 13.9, it will instantly drop to stock boost for the rest of the rpm band. Like lets say I hit that 12-14psi at 3500rpm. Well right after that, lets say 3600-7800rpm it will drop off and stay at stock boost through the whole band.

so use the duty cycle from 3500 to 7500just start 2 on 3500 and at 2 every 500 rpms to the top.....make sure ur gain and set are low cause this will crank the boost up....try it out and lemme know how it works out
