Anyone have dynojet dyno sheets/files for a CA with stock cams? Also what is the stock redline on a CA18dET? I've heard 8000, and I've also heard 7400rpm.

redline is about 7400, but you can rev it to 8000 without any worries. ive got a dyno sheet if you want it, but im afraid my car was running quite poorly at the time so i cant show you anything great. i made 150.97whp and 164lb/ft of torque on about 9psi of boost because my air/fuel ratio was about 6:1.

I've seen 8k several times on accident. Don't do it all the time as the oil system is not up to the task, and on anything less than a T3 it is pointless to go higher than about 7k as the compressor is out of its efficency range.

Don't worry, I plan to have plenty over a T3.

Stock engine might rev to 7400 rpm, but with every thing being stock, the peak power is at 6800 rpm , so as rico said, there is no point of reving it passed 7K unless you have the internals moded to support it and to have this kind of hp at top ends. A T3 turbo will definitely give you a higer rpm, but keep in mind a good pair of cam shafts will be a smart way to go as well with such a bigger turbo.

The oil pump can handle it and more!

Good deal Dee. Just reading some old posts from people with bearing problems and folks blaming it on the pump led me to that assumption.

Something about the engines that UK guys and bearings I assume. The CA18DEs (U.S. spec) are known for bearing failure and that's only because of neglect. The pumps are sufficient, but are not exempt from failing as well.

As for the rod bolts Tim, why in blazes are you changing them. They are not going to let you down! I don't have a clue as to what the specs of the rod bolts is, but I'm sure if you sent a sample bolt to ARP, they would more than likely be able to accomodate you.

yeah, i was mis-informed. i thought i had to change them but the guy i talked to at napa told me they were re-usable. if you can get me the head gasket by the 3rd then i might be ready to go by the time i go to college! w00t!

one last thing, where can i get some oil lines for my gt28? i understand i just need to find them for an SR becase they are the same. just wondering if you could reccomend anyone in particular..

Use XRP lines and fittings. I'll admit, I never pay much attention to thread pitch in order to scream out an exact #, but as soon as I start reassembling my g/f's engine, I'll be sure to post what the pitch is (Maybe before then).
