So a couple of weeks ago I got an Ipod touch. The first app I downloaded was dynolicious! I was a little cautious about how accurate the program was so I decided to do a coupe tests. I tested 3 cars, my 300zx n/a, my parents Volvo s60 2.5t, and my buddy’s 240sx ka24e.
Factory Crank Horsepower/Drive Train Loss
300zx = 222hp rwd/manual = around 19% (180whp)
Volvo = 208hp fwd/auto = around 16% (175whp)
240sx = 140hp rwd/auto = around 20% (112whp)
The stuff I posted at the top is what the factory hp is and the estimated whp based off drive train loss.

When setting up dynolicious you have to enter 0 for wheel horse power and a certain percentage for estimate crank horsepower. Through my test I have figured out they have this wrong, if you input your drive train loss it gives you a more accurate number for your whp. Above I put the estimated whp off the factory crank hp, this is what we are going to try to achieve from dynolicious.
So lets go ahead and take a look at my car.
so my numbers where 143hp with 0 Drive Train Loss. And 170hp with 19%

The 240sx was 96hp with 0% Drive Train Loss. And 115hp with 20%

The Volvo put down 146hp with 0% Drive Train Loss. And 169hp with 16%
Through my test I have to say dynolicious is pretty accurate with the Volvo and the 240sx. The reason why my 300zx was 10hp off is mainly due to it having 130,000miles. Thanks for reading my informations if your have any questions just let me know.
