I was finally able to get my car running good enough to go to the dyno and get it tuned. The first run I had problem with the boost controller and the turbo spiked at 30psi. The RB25 took the abuse and kept running strong and the computer showing 450 ft/lbs of torque. After fixing the problem with the boost controller we tried another run. This time the boost held at 20psi until about 4k rpm and then it dropped down to around 15psi until redline (7000rpm). It looks like this turbo is only able to hold about 15psi steady until redline. The boost was kept as it was and the fuel and timing maps were adjusted during a couple more runs. I ended up finishing with 375hp, 350 ft/lbs of torque. The car pulls hard and the RB25 is very smooth. I was pretty happy with the results.

I got the wrong final dyno printout but below is the second to last run.

Here's a pic of the engine:

NICE NUMBERS!!

can you re-list your setup ??

ive read a couple people getting valve floating when pushing past 20psi on the stock head ... good thing nothing happened when you spiked!

also, could you take a pic of the rad-to-engine clearance ? i know your using the mckinney mounts and i just bought mine but im worried that my fal210 fans wont fit in the tiny space...

Heres my setup:

SII RB25Head port and polishCP PistonsARP Head StudsGreddy Head GasketGreddy Intake ManifoldQ45 TBGreddy IntercoolerGT32 turboPrecision 550cc InjectorsPower FC

I dont have any pics of the radiator clearance but I also have the FAL duals and I can tell you with the Koyo radiator theres no way it would fit as puller fans. Maybe on a stock radiator but it would be close.

there is one that goes from the valve cover to the intake manifold

Doesn't that one only open under vacuum, during which would be minimum blowby anyway? I think if the one going to the intake tract is blocked, you'd pressurize the valve covers under boost.

Seems that this issue has been popping up a lot lately.

Good numbers though! I can't wait to get mine tuned up in the spring.

BTW, what fuel rail is that? JGY?

ehh it takes a little longer than a few seconds of WOT to pressurize the entire crankcase. unless you have LOTS of blowby lol

then as soon as you lift to shift, its all gone anyway.

Quote »how big is your intake pipe?
Right now intake pipe is 2.5". A bit small but I will change it to 3" when I have the money for the pipe and couplers

Quote »but please tell me that those oil breathers just dont go into eachother, and they go somewhere else too
The other end is open. I will be putting a small vent filter on it.

Quote »Do I spy with my chinky eyes D2 coilovers???How do you like them???How are they on the street and the track?
Those are D2's. I really like them. They can be a bit rough on the street but you get used to it. I havent had any other coilovers to compare to but these really improve the handling of the car and for the price they cant be beat.

Quote »BTW, what fuel rail is that? JGY?
Yes, it is the JGY fuel rail. A nice rail but I had to cut it to make it fit without hitting the firewall.

This was on 93 octane fuel. I do use this as my daily driver except for when the weather is bad (heavy rain). The clutch is a bit heavy in traffic but I have gotten used to it now. The car feels great cruising and when I get on the throttle. It pulls hard and feels like it wants to keep pulling across the entire power band. I havent yet been able to connect my power steering so I havent yet fully seen how the car handles after putting in the engine.
