Just got back from the dyno. Car made 515 at the top with e-85. Im maxing out my 800cc injectors.

Power band sort of sucks. I want 600+ with a meaner power band. built bottom end.

Fun stuff:

garret t3 60-1ebay manifoldebay wastegate (creeps with a 1bar spring)greddy intake manifold

we were discussing some of the lag. thinking the turbo, but also the fact that I have a 4 row greddy intercooler.

prob gonna sell this setup soon. get a nice manifold turbo setup and some huge injectors. along with a 600+ bb turbo. Any opinions?

Holset HX40 should get you just under 600rwhp on a mustang dyno. The DSM guys are getting 650+rwhp with HX40, but that's on dynojets. I'm at 1.5 bar by about 4.5k rpm.

O yeah, and did I mention you can get them new for $450?

look at the curve, looks like it's not flatten out yet; i like to see it at 7800; that's not bad for a 60-1 and a crappy manifold.

are you running any cams ? i guess that's in the upgrade list eh!

wg creep will kill power delivery.when i had my hks VTA it would creep to 22psi dispite having a 1 bar spring...power sucked.recirced the wg and it had nice smooth power delivery as well as stable boost control.not bad tho...what kind of fuel line are you using?

no cams.

but yeah Carl, the wastegate creep is killer. thinking just need a whole new manifold. that XS is a crappy design along with a 38mm isnt gonna cut it. Also, why did recircing it stop creep?

as for the fuel line im using the stock. everyone is moving to e-85 and not doing a thing. lots of wrxs and stuff running 2 years on it.

regardless as soon as i get my surge tank anodized ill be switching to full AN.

they were thinking the turbo would prob start falling off at 550. the graph had was very similar to a RB that had a gt35r, but his came on a bit sooner.

Dumb Question but I don't know the Turbo Sizes.Are you talking about a T3/T4 60 trim -1.00 AR or a Straight T3 Hot T3 60 trim with a 1.00 AR??

Nice #'s although your power band isn't that good.

I didn't know Switching to E85 is that easy.I thought there would be more to it.

How much boost did it creep to? Did you modify the ssac manifold? The wastegate pipe opening is TINY! I don't plan on buying a new manifold (or new anything for that mater) so I'm going to weld a larger WG pipe and recirc the w/g. I believe recircing it has a scavenging effect and so helps alleviate spikes and creeps.

How much timing are you running at full boost?

The recirc'ing helps draw the gases out of the wastegate piping which increases the capacity of the pipe since it is no longer venting to atmosphere, it is venting to a pipe causing a negative pressure.

ahhhh, got it.

didnt think about vacuum. eh, i have to look at the map. he was having trouble with aem picking up the knock sensors but they finally started too. He said he was throwing it at the car and it was loving it. Ill have to check today. actually shoot me an email later. ill talk to you about it off nico

i was thinking about modifying the manifold too, but im trying to see how much power can be given by switching to a good manifold. if its going to help my low end out more, then i might go that way.

Good numbers, especially for the rather basic setup.

Few questions. What fuel pump and what fuel pressure are you running?

Also forgive my ignorance, but is this a 25 or a 26?

rb25

2 walbros base pressure at 43psi with a rising rate fpr.

my gauges are set up to read at nozzle pressure so not sure what it is at at max boost. iirc somewhere around 60psi, prob a tad less

Ahh, thats about what I figured. In the short term you may be able to squeak out a little more if you increase the base pressure to 50-55

yeah, we were actually talking about that.

the peak 515 was only just to see what it could do. we actually ended up just turning the rev limiter down to 7k. wanted to stay away from 100% since the car is just gonna see the track for a bit

e-85 needs double the fuel of regular gas/race gas

we can swap cars. Looks like we have the same powerband only your car has a lil more power. I don't understand how you plan on drifting in low speed turns with a power band like this. too laggy

clutch and throttle control. makes fun drifting. ive drifted with a worse power band making like 250hp

gotta start practicing again. but 1st and 2nd are easy enough to spin at low speeds

as of now im at 1 bar at 4grand.

but the power takes a bit to come on. we want to fix the creep issues wit a better design. throw some bigger injectors on and see what we can do with this turbo.

more to come as soon as i get the manifold fix and get bigger injectors.

so if anyone wants to buy some 800cc sard injectors
