Hey everyone,

So I was browsing a couple other auto mod forums, and there was a lot of discussion on something that I haven't seen much of on here; Dyno tuning after adding a mod. It seemed pretty standard opinion to tune after a charger add on, but there were also avlot of discussions about doing a tune/reprogram after adding any bolt on mods, in order to get the proper/full hp gains out of them. Is this accurate?

To phrase my question another way: If I added an intake, plenum spacers, and/or exhaust to a stock G35, should I get my car Dyno Tuned?

And is Dyno a brand name, or a technical description of the type of tuner? Man, I feel like a kindergartener at the first day of school - clueless!

Sorry I had to.

You'll get varying opinions on this subject, but I personally feel that basic bolt-ons aren't going to justify getting a dyno tune. Simply resetting your ECU should do the trick (check the FAQ for the ECU reset procedure).

A dyno or dynamometer is a special device used to determine a vehicles Horsepower and Torque. I dyno tune is when a tuning shop uses a dyno to tune your car for max performance. Do a search on dynos and you'll get lots of info.

$2000 worth of bolt-on mods will probably add another 30 HP to the wheels.

Intake=5Plenum spacer (when applicable)=10-15Exhaust=5-10Pulleys=5-10 (freed ponies, not added ponies).
